In this presentation I examine how sustainability specialists can better craft messaging for the human brain through the pattern of narrative storytelling. This exploration manifested in a podcast which used narrative to share resources and lend a nuanced understanding to the application of sustainable solutions. This project was the culmination of my experience as a designer, manufacturer, multi-faceted maker, and sustainability specialist. This project became a sort of love letter to both the wise, passionate, and revolutionary makers who have graced my life and to the planet that has supported all of our creations.

PROCESS: This project brought together experiences and fragments of knowledge from throughout my life, career, and education. Intuitively, I knew there was a through-line, however these influences were not initially amounting to a salient hypothesis. The nebulous intuition did add up to a compelling line of logic which I was able to construct through this method of mind mapping. This style of mapping also served as a helpful way to visualize holes in my argument as a lack of filled space suggested that there was not evidence for that node.
